One foot in front of the other, the space passes slowly. Your eyes drift to the ground as you plod forward. It's hard to make out, but here and there the wind has worn away this path's dry grasses and dirt to expose it's stone core. You look up again to check you're headed the right direction, and the forest remains on the horizon. You drop your gaze again, interlacing your fingers over your head and letting out a long exhale.
Your feet start to
hurt.
