You blink back the tears streaming down the left side of your face. You're curled up on the ground, completely alone, 8 miles deep.
You do remember now, now that you think about it, even though you've been trying not to, the last time you were on the north-south line. It was when you moved to the city for the first time. It was a long time ago. The line stopped running after you got here, like a sign you shouldn't go back.
Too afraid to stand up and risk blacking out, you crawl to the edge of the platform. It's a few feet down. In the dark, you can see rats between the rocks. Bless 'em.
