After waiting a moment for the mechanisms to do their work, you step out of the elevator onto the station's top floor. You are on the northern side of the Hauptbahnhof. This side is for the east bound regional train. It continues from here through the city, to the airport, and out beyond. Stepping out from the elevator, you get hit with another swarm of people. They're swelling up from the stairs at either end of the platform. One of them sneezes on you, and you wince, reeling backward. Turned around, you hold onto the rail and look out at the ground floor below you. You get dizzy. You scan the crowd, hoping someone will catch your eye and calm you down. There's too many to take in, but for a moment the crowd parts to reveal a beautiful brown dove walking around down there with all the people.
